Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg MTB is back at Steyn City! Brand new features have been added to Steyn City’s already thrilling MTB trail network. Choose between a 10km, 25 km or 50 km trail but do not be fooled - the route packs a punch!
MTB:
10KM - Sat 9 November: Perfect for a family day out, kids and parents can enjoy a day of Mountain Biking together.
25KM - Sat 9 November: Perfect for the weekend warrior or those riders relatively new to mountain biking.
50KM - Sun 10 November: For the brave and seasoned mountain biker.

E-bikes: If you are riding an e-bike please select this option on your entry form. T&C's applies.
KIDS: Sat 9 November:
Perfect for a family day out, kids and parents can enjoy a day.
Birds - 1km
Meerkats - 1.5km
Lions - 2.8km
Elephants - 5.5km

10km: 8 years and older on 31 December 2025 25km: older than 10 years on the 31 December 2025. 50km: older than 15 years on the 31 December 2025.Kids Road categories (on tarred / paved roads within Steyn City): Birds - 1km / Meerkats - 1.5km / Lions - 2.8km / Elephants - 5.5km.
As a parent buying your child’s entry, make use of the FAMILY ACCOUNT on checkout to ensure your child’s details are accurately captured.
25km will take place on Saturday 8 November and the 50km will take place on Sunday 9 November.
E-Bikes may only be ridden if the participant selects the E-bike category when entering online. Should an E-bike participant change his entry to / from an E-bike category without properly applying for such a change through the Race Office, he / she will be disqualified (T&C's apply). No e-bikes will be permitted on the 10km MTB route
An entrant’s Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg MTB index will be calculated using the following criteria: The Organising Committee will use selected SASeeding MTB events obtained between 1 November 2021 to 30 September 2025 for seeding of 25km / 50km entrants (at the discretion of the Race Director).
It is compulsory for every cyclist participating in 25km & 50km to wear a valid SASeeding board linked to your personal profile. SASeeding boards can be purchased online and on the day.
Refunds shall not be permitted under any circumstances, and thus, the policy strictly precludes the issuance of reimbursements for any purchases or transactions.
